Free Range Folk Choir Concert May 17th, 7pm

“Politics can be strengthened by music, but music has a potency that defies politics.”
― Nelson Mandela

Come celebrate the lives of Nelson Mandela and Pete Seeger with music from South Africa and sing alongs in Pete Seeger style, as well as a rich mix of folk music from around the world. Vashon Island's own Free Range Folk Choir will be presenting a Concert at 7pm on Saturday, May 17th at the Burton Church (23905 Vashon Hwy SW).  As always, admission is free; donations in support of the event are gratefully accepted.

We hope to see you there!

“Once upon a time, wasn’t singing a part of everyday life as much as talking, physical exercise, and religion? Our distant ancestors, wherever they were in this world, sang while pounding grain, paddling canoes, or walking long journeys... When one person taps out a beat, while another leads into the melody, or when three people discover a harmony they never knew existed, or a crowd joins in on a chorus as though to raise the ceiling a few feet higher, then they also know there is hope for the world.”
― Pete Seeger

Also, mark your calendar: Free Range Folk Choir will sing at the NW Folklife Festival on Monday, May 26th at the Cornish Courtyard Stage from 1:00 to 1:30pm.
